The Youth and Family Enrichment Services (YFES) Crisis Intervention
and Suicide Prevention Center (CISPC) teen web site, “www.onyourmind.net”,
is committed to protecting the privacy of users of our site. This privacy
policy discloses our information collection and dissemination practices
for this web site. Please read this policy carefully. We may need to
change this policy from time to time in order to address new issues and
reflect changes on our site. We will post these changes here so that
you will always know what information we collect, why we collect it,
what we do with it, and what your choices are in this collection process.

Collection of Information and It’s Use
YFES CISPC maintains the confidentiality, security, and integrity of
personal information that we obtain from our users. We do not disclose
personal information to any party beyond the YFES CISPC network without
your permission. YFES CISPC is a nonprofit organization and will only
share the information we collect about our users with the funders of
this web site. The only information YFES CISPC requires to register is
your age, gender and zip code.
Surveys, Sharing & Contests:
YFES CISPC offers a link to take a voluntary survey. This survey will
be used for purposes of monitoring, assessing, and improving the use
and satisfaction of this site. YFES CISPC will share aggregated demographic
information with our funders. This is not linked to any personal information
that can identify any individual person. If a contest is run from the
YFES CISPC web site participation is voluntary and information collected
with be used in assessing the program and in possible cases to notify
the winners and award prizes.
About IP Addresses and Cookies:
YFES CISPC will collect non-personal identification information through
the use of IP address tracking and/or “cookie” technology.
We may use IP addresses and/or “cookies” for the purposes
of system administration and to collect the number of users to the site,
areas you visit on our site, and other similar information. An IP address
is a number that’s automatically assigned to your computer whenever you’re
surfing the Web. Web servers automatically identify your computer by
its IP address. When guests request pages from www.onyourmind.net our
servers log the users IP addresses. We do not link IP addresses to anything
personally identifiable except when a visitor to the chat room is suicidal
and in immediate danger of killing themselves that night. In this case
YFES CISPC will make every effort to use the IP address and/or any other
means possible to find the location of that visitor and if it is possible
to find their location YFES CISPC will ask the police to do a welfare
check. This means that a user’s session will be logged,but the user remains
anonymous to us.
Cookies are pieces of information that a Web Site transfers to an individual’s
hard drive for record-keeping purposes. The use of cookies is an industry
standard. Most browsers accept cookies. You can set your browser to refuse
cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. YFES CISPC will
use IP addresses and “Cookies” to gather information
to understand how our users as a group use the services and resources
provided on our site. This way we know which areas of our site are favorites
of our users, which areas need improvement, and what technologies are
being used so that we may continually improve our site. We may share
this information with our funders, but we will not share any individual
names, personal navigational or other personal information.

CISPC is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites.
In many cases, the links represent cooperative projects or are mutual
links established with persons or entities connected with our sites.
Although we initially visit the sites or services that are so linked,

encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read

information collected by this Web Site.

Protecting your privacy and your information is very important. YFES
CISPC has taken measures to secure both your information and our physical
premises. We try to be very careful in providing secure transmission
of your information from your PC to our servers. Our secure server software
encrypts information, ensuring that all Internet transactions remain
private (unless sent by an unsecured means, such as e-mail). Since not
all areas of our web site encrypt the transmission between your PC and
our server, please be sure to check your web browser’s settings to verify
that a particular page your are visiting is encrypted or not.
Public Forums:
This web site makes chat rooms available to its users. Please remember
that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public
information. Therefore, you may not disclose personal information in
the public chat room.

These Forums are for public use and will only be monitored by YFES CISPC
for offensive and inappropriate statements, information, etc. YFES CISPC
does not recommend or endorse any of the advice or comments put onto
the chat rooms. This site does not provide mental health treatment. If

you a referral. This site provides only support, information and referrals,
and is not a replacement for professional counseling or therapy. If you

Submission of Materials by Users:
When you submit a question, article, or other material to YFES CISPC
through the Web Site, you are authorizing YFES CISPC to read it, edit
it, publish it on the Web Site or any of our future publications and
authorize other organizations to publish it. So this means your submission
can be read all over the world and downloaded and copied, as well as
in other on-line or off-line forms. If you don’t want your question,
article, or other materials to be posted and read by others, do not submit
it. Before posting a submission on the site, YFES CISPC will edit it
- lightly or heavily - in order to make it clear and to preserve your
anonymity. You can do your part by editing it yourself first to eliminate
anything that might identify you or other people mentioned in your submission.
